Buy Vending Machine Costco

Buying your own machine can be costly. A new soda vending machine costs around $5,000. On top of this, you need to purchase a bill validator and coin mechanism and pay for sales tax and delivery. A national bottler, on the other hand, will deliver new and refurbished machines, often times for free, to your place of business.

People are more likely to buy from a newer machine than they are from an older machine. Why? People have more faith that a newer machine will give them their product and not eat their money. So, not only do you save money by not having to buy a machine, your sales will increase because your customers will have more faith in your machines.

If your machine is generating 400 vends a month, 83,333 vends / 400 vends = 208 months to break even. Assuming you got a 17% interest free loan on this machine, you consistently paid .06 cents less on every bottle you bought, and your machine never broke down, it would take over 17 years to break even on your machine.

It probably varies from area to area, and in my area the Costco is too far away, and not very well stocked for vending. BJ's Wholesale, another club store, is close but also more oriented to bulk retail buyers. Sam's Club is a love/hate relationship, as they forced out the smaller distributors a while back, but they do usually have the best selection and pricing for vending (here anyway). If you are big enough to use Vistar or other regional wholesalers you will still be using Sam's for a lot of product....

Selection varies completely from one store to another. Costco had great deals a few years ago when they first opened, and they had way more variety for vending too, but now they are pretty limited and it's not worth my time to bother going there when I have a Sam's Club that's 15 minutes away and has a lot of what I need. Sam's Club probably accounts for 65% (or more) of my COGS whereas a couple distributors account for the rest. I'm getting bigger though so I am slowly ordering more and more from distributors simply because of the lack of time to go pick things up at Sam's.

Sam's and Costco are almost next to each other where I am. BJ's is just a little farther away. I've found that Sam's has the best vending selections. The other two just don't have much for vending at all... in my area. I was buying from Vistar, but they've raised the minimum order and added fuel charges and it cost me more to have them deliver than it does for me to go to Sam's and my local small distributor and pick it up myself.

I belong to both. Is you have the Business membership to they end up costing nothing since your purchases pay the membership. Sam's has more variety, Costco has some chip and chocolate variety packs I prefer. I could not fill my machines with just a Costco membership. On Dec 1 my Sam's membership puts $500 on my account due to yearly purchases (nice). All things being equal, Sam's is the better choice. For me they are within 3 miles of each other, so I belong to both.

Not all Costco's are created equal - they have stores they call "business centers" - these are the stores that have all the vending stuff - the one nearest to my shop is only about 10 miles but in Seattle traffic that can be 10 minutes or an hour and a half so I use the delivery service - free next day delivery for orders over $250.

For the same price of a crystal chandelier, caffeine-lovers can find joy in Costco's most expensive espresso-maker, the Z6 Automatic Coffee Machine. The product description on Costco's website says the high-tech machine is inspired by "the world's best baristas" and makes "possibly the best espresso of all time."

Businesses can find tons of commercial-grade products and bulk items at the warehouse. This plug-in ready vending machine is the most expensive in its category on Costco's website, and it has surprisingly high-tech features like energy-efficient lighting and "built-in sales and accounting data," according to the product description.

For only slightly more money than an entire vending machine, Costco members can buy a massive wine cellar. Costco's highest-priced wine storage unit stores up to 400 bottles, something wine-enthusiasts can definitely write home about. It includes cooling technology that remains at a "library quiet" sound level and a low-emission, energy-efficient glass door.
